Ontario is leading the way when it comes to looking after Canada’s military.
Last Monday, the McGuinty government and opposition parties voted to make Ontario the first province to guarantee instant access to health care for out-of-town military families.
The legislation will benefit about 8,500 military family members each year by lifting a 90-day waiting period to access provincial health insurance. This is truly a step this province can be proud of, and of which others should take notice. In fact, it could and should be used as a model in other provinces.
