Ont. – The parents of an 11-year-old boy forced by the Children’s Aid
Society to undergo cancer treatment are scheduled to appear before a
judge this afternoon to fight their case.
A spokeswoman at the
office of prominent Toronto lawyer Marlys Edwardh confirmed that the
family of the boy, who cannot be identified in order to protect his
privacy, would be in court at 2 p.m. to ask to regain custody of their
son.The case has sparked national debate over the right to seek alternative therapies for chronic illnesses.
