Socialism to the rescue!

There is a fervoured stampede to the trough…  auto manufacturers, bank & credit companies, big oil… the list goes on and on.  All fat and bloated from their opportunistic exploitations and greed now facing lean times by an economy on the down swing.  They have squandered their exorbitant profits choosing to live in the moment and failing to plan for the future.  Now these industries and companies are all crying poor, begging and demanding that we as a society must through our limited means and budgets, put forward cash from our pockets to help sustain their excesses and mismanagement.

So has it become a convenient fall back for these companies knowing that government will bear the burden of their failed businesses on the backs of Joe/Jane average to not plan or manage their companies effectively?  I am thinking that these CEO’s and company managers should be repaying their bonuses and dividends and turning in all of their stock options before I as a tax payer should be pulling money from my pocket to bail their companies out.

I am also thinking that if we are going to be bailing these companies out then I would expect that as new "share holders" in these companies that my future revenues generated from the company being profitable should be directed towards paying my taxes.  I am thinking that if we keep bailing out companies that sooner or later all of our taxes will be paid by the companies that we save from financial ruin.

Just a thought…

About Anarchenisis

Mildly competitive… maybe a small bit head strong… sometimes has an opinion… and occasionally has a requirement to be right (currently averaging 99.9% of the time). But my high level of sensitivity and empathy makes up for any of my minor faults :-)
